Florence is lovely. Venice was definitely unique, but there was way too much walking around. It is truly a pedestrian city. The villa outside of Florence is definitely by far the best backdrop for a romantic getaway. We finally found American-style pizza in Venice. I think I passed by a couple places in Florence on my way to the supermarket earlier. Yes, the market did not close early on Sunday. Most of the local shops open for only half the day on Sundays. I stocked up on water and fruit. The Skibas dropped me off on their way to Rome. The planned logistics went as planned. Their credit card stopped working, which was odd. The People Mover machine asked for my PIN, but my credit card doesn't have one. That was also odd. People spend too much time eating carbs here but no one is fat. Wine is free flowing at all hours of the day. I am off to Brussels this weekend to visit the Nguyens. Next week, there are two national holidays in Italy. We will be working from the hotel since most of the shops will be closed.
