We are off to Grand Lake this weekend. I think it will be the first time we are going somewhere and staying overnight
since COVID-19 started. It will be nice to get away and do something different for once. The weather should clear up
by the weekend so we can hang out on the lake. I have to say I've never been on a boat at Grand Lake with the Bullards
except for that one time with Steve and Marci. Sharon can take a break from watering the lawn this week because
of the rain. It's nice with all the rain but it puts a damper on your mood. The sky is gloomy and depressing. It
doesn't help that we are stuck in our homes and trying to get work done. Last night I made fish stew for dinner. For
today's meal, I'm making seafood pasta salad. It's more like imitation crab meat salad as opposed to real seafood.
I'm trying to use up all of the frozen foods we have so we can replenish them with newer frozen foods. We seem to buy
all kinds of stuff for the house but the freezer for the garage remains missing.

Nothing much happened over the weekend other than the patio dining chairs came in. They came in on Saturday during
the day, which was perfect timing. We had people over on the patio on Saturday night. This was after a day at the pool.
I couldn't stay up past 11pm. A good thing about going to sleep early is you get to do it
in the comfort of your own home without having to deal with driving home. Paul's softball team won the first game
and lost the second game. I think we are eating way too much pizza on the weekends. I fee like we order pizza delivery
every weekend now. It's the easiest thing to do when you have no idea what to eat.

I offered to pre-sign a couple blank checks in case I'm not here at the house. Then I realized I'm always home now
because I don't go into the office for work and I only go out to run errands (if any). Otherwise, I am home. The only
exception to this is the weekly pool outing at the Nichols on Saturdays. It's always nice to have your lawn mowed
and the heavy rain comes in right after. Sharon has done an amazing job getting the front and back lawns up to par.
The two takeaways in maintaining your lawn are to dig up all of the weeds (as much as you can) and to keep the lawn
consistently watered. If the lawn goes on a dry spell for a few days, all that hard work you put in will go to
waste.

I finished all four seasons of "The Last Kingdom". It took me almost a month to get here. It really is like
Game of Thrones, but on a much faster pace. A lot goes on in one episode and I don't have to wait all season long
to find out why the queen is mad at the main character. Also, there are no supernatural and fantasy/sci-fi story lines.
The only thing that is remotely supernatural is the Dane woman putting a spell on others. I read up on the Saxons, the
Danes, and King Alfred. This all took place in real life during that time. Whether Uhtred exists remains to
be seen. I'm looking forward to season five, which should come out later this year on Netflix.

I told myself I would be on top of this by doing daily posts but that didn't happen. Life took over and I became
lazy. Speaking of which, cases are spiking big time. It's as if the cases moved from the north down south and soutwest.
The governor of Oklahoma tested positive. There will be other governors and public officials who will eventually test
positive. I stopped by Cultivar yesterday to check out their outdoor market. It was so cool. They were selling their
inventory in its raw form or prepared meals form. You have your choice. I picked up some margarita mixes and these
pinwheel chips. They accepted cash, venmo, or the cash app. It was cool to see them do this. Businesses need to stay
alive and we need to help them as much as we can.

Will and Wiley is my favorite new hard seltzer. Instead of White Claw or Truly, Will and Wiley tastes a lot better
and it's made here in Oklahoma. The favorite flavor by far is the cherry lime. They sell them as six packs in the
same flavor or a combo packet with other flavors. The other difference is that the cans that the drinks come in are
in the same shape as a beer can. White Claw and Truly make theirs skinny and tall to distinguish themselves from
beer cans. Every time I'm at the store, I make sure to load up on these guys. You never know when you'll be out
and about again to pick up these guys.

I think I am spending too much time outside by the pool. My brain cells are dying off due to the heat. The highs
for later this week will be in the 90s and the following week will be in the three digits. I ran up to the office
this morning to place the disinfectant wipes. As I drove into the building garage, there were three other cars
in front of me wanting to get in. I have never seen so many people in the building. I assumed people will take off
today to make their long holiday weekend even longer.

Yesterday morning, I was in the office to present to our interns virtually. They will be with us for five weeks
this summer. All of the work they are doing will be completed virtually. There were two other people in the office.
I left after lunch time to take two more calls in the afternoon from home. Our internet is back up. Apparently, a
technician pulled one of the cabling at another station that affected our outage. The network extender device has
been great. It's now in our bedroom as opposed to the guest room. The technician said we need to elevate the routers
to improve the connection. It was funny when I heard that because radio waves will go wherever they need to go
regardless of whether the router is perched on a table or sitting on the ground. I think the guy just made it up
so we can feel better about our internet connection. I have one meeting this morning and I am done for the day.
I may just flex for the rest of the day since I am not taking an extended PTO anytime soon. I am ready for this hot
weather to go away so I can go back to working outdoors. We need an umbrella for the new patio table outside!

I am over this hot weather. It's hot and humid. It reminds me of the weather in New Orleans. We have this hot and
humid weather about ten months out of the year. After work yesterday, I tilled the land again. I have a bit more to do
tonight and I should be done. Paul and I handle the installation and Sharon takes care of the daily maintenance.
I tried watering the backyard yesterday morning. It's fine and all but it takes a lot of work and patience to water the
flower bed and lawn. If Sharon wasn't in the picture, I'd be all over it. The front and backyards continue to look
even better every day. Last year, the lawn guys went away for a whole month in August. I think they did the same
thing the year before. I hope they continue with their weekly mows through the month of August. Baby Parker is growing
and getting fatter. His mom says he eats every couple of hours. He only cries when he wants to eat or needs to be
changed. Other than that, he's a happy camper.
