Poor Brian passed away. Bless his heart. I'm sure it's a publicity stunt to bring him back to life.

The teacher dismissed class after everyone completed their mid-terms. We have two more classes before ending the term. He's right. He should have started from the get go. He came in during the middle of the term to take over a teacher's spot. Also, the class has jumped from 6 students to 3. Regardless of the 50% decrease in student headcount, we will persevere and push forward. Julie sent me an email asking for quite a bit of personal information. I am asking that she mails me the information and I will reply via regular mail. I will be more comfortable that way. Although, there is a chance someone will open my snail mail and obtain all of my personal info. Nowadays, it's all about assessing your risks. Do you want a hired photographer to take pictures of you while you zumba dance and have him post your sweaty photos to the general public or do you feel comfortable sending your original birth certificate to the passport office? You think you can rely on the system and the controls in place, but one would go crazy and mad if we cannot trust the system. Oh and how about leaving your door unlocked before heading out for the day? Try that and see if you have some piece of mind throughout your day.
Okay so "Breaking Bad" is getting really good. I'm only on the 6th episode of the first season. Like Chi Mai said, the show is all about survival.
I do not have cable tv. The only thing I subscribe to now is high speed internet through Time Warner, which is actually offered by Earthlink because Time Warner does not have a package for internet only. I am bit confused with this internet thing. The Netflix stream sometimes freezes or hesitates every now and then. Is it because of my internet service or the equipment I have? My Airport is hooked up to the internet router and all of my internet is pretty much wifi at this point. I should be the only person using the internet router but I have a feeling someone else is using it too. How can the internet be slow when I am the only person technically connected to LamOnMyDen? I should unplug the internet router to reboot it or something. I have been unplugging and plugging the Airport but I think the "hesitation" lies with the actual router. The housewives of Atlanta are at it again. Kenya is still not over the Walter thing even if it was Nene's big day. Porsha chopped off her hair. She may have married a gay man who is divorcing her. Eagleton is now part of Pawnee. Ann and Rob Lowe are moving away after she gives birth. POTUS's dad raped Mellie? Olivia's mom is alive and she's Khandi Alexander from "Newsradio"? Quinn is part of B613 now? What the eff?
I was given a prescription for a cough syrup. It pretty much knocked me out last night. I was asleep before 9PM and was wide awake this morning at 4:30AM. Nicole sent me another racy commercial from Kmart. Whoever is behind Kmart's ad campaign is a genius. I'm surprised these commercials are making their way onto network TV. I couldn't make it to Heather's class last night but managed to get laundry out of the way. Joel will have nice clean bedding for his long term stay beginning this Sunday night. Chi Tam comes right after him. Now that I think of it...both are coming from California. They are leaving the cool weather of California for cold New York. KNT met me at my doorstop and walked me to my laundromat. You have three more days until you are in la la land. Just push on through and get it done. The family group text is a bit delayed since it is not in your face like a real text. I keep forgetting to check the group text app. There was a time when I didn't text because I refused to pay a dime for each text. Oh those flip phones...the pay as you go text caused a lot of headache.
The commute from uptown to the office is not so bad. It only took 30 minutes and that's waiting for trains to arrive. In all, I could have done two trains, but I did three because I got greedy. In the end, it was not a bad morning commute. Last night's very off off broadway spectacular at Henry's was interesting. You can tell the performers were struggling and it's definitely okay. They were doing their own thing. I skipped out of class a bit early to make it to dinner on time. I ended up having way too much time on my hands. This cough will not let up. It has been ongoing for about two weeks now. It's not the chronic cough that Jacq and I laugh about. This one wakes me up at night. I am ready for some Z-Pak to fight this infection...it is definitely in my throat. Precious got her precious jewelry box. What SL should have done was to get her the jewelry box and throw that one rock all the way down at the bottom of the last drawer. Wouldn't that be a big surprise? The Nguyens will take over King Henry Court with their bikes. The parents are getting way too tired to run after them on their bikes. Yes, it does make sense to get your own bikes. I wonder if Mom knows how to ride a bike.
Where did the weekend go? Two days is not enough to do what you want to do. Didn't the French adopt a three day weekend? Chi Mai and I didn't stay for the entire reading. We skipped out at intermission. Apparently, she was too tired to stay awake. I followed her out and got picked up on the west side like a dirty hooker. I actually did pass up a tranny hooker. This was on 10th Ave. It looked like (s)he was on a mission to stomp some serious pavement. All this talk about scarves this and that, she ends up buying them at the local stores. You could have gotten them for no tax and free shipping at a very competitive price. So I am liking Chromecast. It was a very easy setup process. I am able to stream youtube and Netflix, plus Hulu Plus onto my TV. Just use your mobile devices and computers to stream the videos. The only setback is that it currently cannot stream HBO Go and Amazon videos. The device should be able to handle them soon...so they say.
I am starting to like this laundry during the week business. It means I get to enjoy the weekend. This week's load was extra heavy because I had to wash two sets of bedding. Viet stayed for a couple nights on my bed while I was away. I was in and out of my sleep last night. There may have been a couple hallucinations. I am not too sure. All About Dad was okay. I expected more but I think it was a class project or the first film for the director after completing film school. Melanie wants her scarves, especially the cheap "cashmere" ones. I don't recall buying her some but she is asking for more. Mom wants warm gloves and something to cover her nose and mouth. She basically wants a ski mask to walk up and down the street. Dad is joining her on the morning walks now. I wonder how he is spending his retirement. It must be nice not to worry about getting up or doing anything. I hear he is fishing and my mom is helping with selling the fish. She bought a heavy duty portable scale. I definitely enjoy Amazon's Prime. The only complaint I have is that you must buy from a Prime vendor to take advantage of the fast, free shipping. I don't think I will get Sim City because too many people are complaining about the game's limitations. You are at the mercy of the company's server. Also, you cannot expand your city and connect with others. Speaking of which, why are all the kids playing Minecraft? I was super perplexed when I saw Brandon playing it. He had on headphones and talking to his cousin about where to look for what. I saw pieces of red meat flying in the air and a lot of running around. Chi Tam, where you at?
Work was nothing special. I managed to push out a couple big items that I have been sitting on. I showed up 5 minutes early to KNT's place. She gave me the "you're five minutes early" look and walked away. I'd give me the same look too if I had just spent one hour underground and wanted to decompress before tending to my guest. Yes, I eat and run! Zoomba was surprisingly fun. It was definitely a cardio workout. I got to skip the gym this morning. I am back to limping on my left foot. All that jumping around got to me last night. We ate grilled veggies, banh mi, and cassava cake as our peasant meal. The diamond ring is very nice. I am very happy for you guys. Thanks to Haja, "Never love anyone who treats you like you're ordinary" - Oscar Wilde
If you don't want to be bothered with notifications, turn them off. It's very simple. Turn off your notifications and silence your phone. How is buzzing silencing your phone? You still hear the buzzing noise and it wakes you up. Therefore, silence your phone completely. You can only see incoming phone calls or message if you manually check your phone. Otherwise, you won't be interrupted throughout your day. I really don't want to hear it.
I do not think it is a good idea to drink before a date. Chi Mai invited me for drinks before her date. We each had two glasses of sangria. I walked her to the restaurant to meet her date. At this point, we were both pretty sloppy. Granted, it was only 7PM. I think she was done for the night. She told me later to never drink before a date. She had fun, but drinks can come after eating. I then walked over to Black Market for some more drinks and real food. I am starting to like BLT now but bacon is definitely not good for you. That's definitely a given, but it's so good. Jacq met with us before she departed for the sunny skies of Costa Rica. We made it uptown and I was up early. We were off to the Target in Harlem but MAS kept calling. Get your goods at Target early in the morning when no one is around. It was a pleasant experience. Now it was back downtown for Plan B. Hotel Chantelle was surprisingly fun. The ladies chanting and screaming to Robyn was priceless. After some shuffling in ground transport, we were back uptown only to start the next day at Ikea. After several hours in Elizabeth, it was back downtown to my steaming apartment.
Literally...mind blowing.
We still do not have any heat. The only day I wanted to shower at the apartment, there was no hot water. I left a voicemail with the landlord to complain. I have no idea what is going on. On top of all this, a stupid truck came by late last night to replace a big trash bin. It sounded like World War Z. This morning, I thought I could sleep in but the construction guys started throwing pieces of cement into the empty trash bin. It all started at 7AM. That is the official time construction can begin in all of NYC. Well, I skipped out on the gym only to be interrupted by the same construction people who kept me up last night. All of this noise really makes me want to move into the suburbs. Well, I'm not a fan of the train commute into the city either so what's my solution? How about leaving the noisy city; live and work out there in no man's land and leave all this noise behind to the next group of "young people". I'm getting too old for this.
Like Heather said, if you have too many distractions, you will never be happy. Stay focused and pay attention to what is in front of you. Speaking of Heather, she was crazy last night. We did all these crazy moves in a very short amount of time. Plus, they were all repetitious. I just didn't understand what she wanted us to do. Ali is all caught up. I skipped out on the Stringer victory party because I needed to catch up on my sleep. Instead of walking her down to Canal, I dropped her off at the Bleecker St stop. I picked up Nicole on my walk home so she can grab her hooker heels. I am getting my annual flu shot today. I guess the flu shot works for me because I haven't had the flu since I moved here...knock on wood. The only bad reaction I got from a shot was the yellow fever vaccine. It was pretty bad. The vaccine kicked in a couple days later. I did not feel like myself at all.
The left foot is still giving me problems. I think it all started with the hike. First it was the ankle and now it's the actual foot. I stopped running on the treadmill when I felt the pain. It's been a couple weeks now. So much for that bridge run...I am liking Britney's new one. Perfume is much better than the other cheesy one. Oh, and One Direction is sounding a bit more mature with "Story of My Life". The Counselor was really a waste of my time. Why would the A list actors sign up for that movie? It really didn't make any sense. Why do we care about the dead body in the truck? Highlight of my weekend was the head tilt. Oh and once a loser, will always be a loser. Keep living in a fantasy world. Karma will bite you on your big ass behind. I guarantee it. Oh, I think it already has.
I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
This is why I don't go out on a school night. Sandrine basically dragged me out. I am gulping down coconut water as we speak. Instead of an awesome bartender due to a wardrobe malfunction, I opted for a Newsies paperboy. It actually worked out. The socks were almost knee high and outside of my pants. The suspenders really helped. I wish I had an oversize vest to finish it off. Anyways, I was in bed quite early but the headache persists. The chocolate cake made it to the office just fine. I think the new employee smelled alcohol from my mouth. A new month means Lashes is out of that big ass house and into the fancy UWS apartment. Hooray for move-in day!
